In addition, the last circumstance of disclosure information to protect the individual or the public interest also been mentioned in The Human Rights Act (1998). Article 8 of the Convention in The Human Rights Act established a duty for all people to respect other people’s private and their family life. Therefore, respect people’s private and family life is a right belonging to everyone and it is also a duty for all people to comply with. However, this Act also mentioned that this is not an absolute right or duty which can be overridden for purposes such as protect health, prevent crime, protect the rights and freedoms of others (Social care institute for excellence, 2015). Under the protection of the law, people will feel more secure when sharing information. Consequently, this allows the service users willing to share their information with health professionals and it helps health professionals to gather the information easier.
